R&D - Research and development
Our business is primarily based on extensive research and development of materials, development of technology of input material processing, and subsequent modifications of technology of production of final products. Our goal is to solve the problematic aspects, which a large part of biodegradable materials suffer from, achieving this by developing the strong properties of ReFork material.
Our R&D team is working on the following goals:
- Attractive design of final products preserving comfort for end consumers
- Good technical and mechanical properties (flexibility, strength, temperature resistance, etc.)
- Affordability of products compared to competing products
- Improving degradation parameters
- Products based on circular economy principles, i.e. environmentally friendly products
- Possibility of transnational distribution and mass production with an ecological context is part of our CSR
- Meeting and extending the requirements of EU Directive 2018/0172 / COD
- Reducing carbon footprint in the manufacturing process
We want to keep R&D goals at a high level in order to positively influence our value chain. Our mission is to help solve excessive plastic consumption. So we have decided to change the global paradigm. Our aim is to replace environmentally unsuitable disposable plastics with environmentally friendly ReFork material and move it to the next generation of materials with environmentally beneficial effects.

Complex concept of mass production
ReFork brings together professionals in the areas of mass production and research and development. In doing so it offers a complex concept of mass production. We are able to cover the development of materials suitable for the application, create an attractive product design, propose a suitable solution for mass production and last but not least ensure all the necessary certifications. Our employees include experienced financial experts who create market analyzes and business models. All our products are biodegradable and tested in leading scientific institutes.
Production of biodegradable materials
The core business of ReFork is the processing and production of biodegradable material. The unique Mechanical-Thermal Integration Method processes all feed materials into the composite with final output in the form of granules or pellets. Our proprietary Mechanical-Thermal Integration Technology is the cornerstone of ReFork material processing technology innovation. It allows to homogenize material with relatively low energy requirements compared to current processing methods and to reduce the number of technological steps with positive economic and environmental impacts. The MTI process forms organic material in a way that improves the physical properties of the final products. Thanks to this process, we are able to make our production considerably more efficient than conventional production methods such as compounding or grinding.
Processing of input raw materials and materials
The entire production process from raw materials to the final product is monitored internally so that we can verify the material quality at any part of the process and thus ensure the consistent quality of our products. The preparation of wood mixture goes through the same process. In this case, the origin or hygiene conditions of processing are also checked. Subsequently, the material is processed to the desired fraction.
Production of end products
The final process in the production chain is the industrial application of ReFork materials. Our target segments are disposable packaging materials and gastronomy products. The material is tested for food-contact and biodegradability tests. To fulfill the vision, we focus on achieving sustainable mass production while maintaining the principles of the circular economy. Our partners and technology suppliers are leading technology manufacturers in the area.
